Over the weekend, a video emerged of a Q & A panel at the Truth Matters Conference in which John MacArthur tells Beth Moore to “Go Home” in regards to her teaching and preaching ministry. In the following 7 minutes of the video, the men of the stage offer unkind and unfair criticism of both Beth and Southern Baptist Convention leadership. On today’s show, we will cover what exactly was said, but more than that we want to talk through what we can learn from this situation as we reflect on our own lives and faith.

Much of this week’s episode orbits around the idea of complementarianism and the role of women in the church. While we don’t fully cover those topics at length, there are two podcast episodes we’d encourage you to check out if you want to dive in further:

Danny Akin interviewed by Baptist 21

Doctrine and Devotion Clarifies their stance on complementarianism

At the close of looking at everything in this video, there were two takeaways we felt are important for us  to be faithful to walk in as we closed:

1) Treat people with love – even if you don’t agree with them.

2) As leaders, be careful of what you say and how you say it.
